The "Raise The Roof" campaign will be at Royal City Centre with the sale of their unique toques (hats) to bring awareness and fundraise for the plight of homeless people in our community.  Please plan to support this timely promotion and drop by and purchase your head-warming toque to show you care.

Royal City Centre is proud to host the 2012 "Festival of Volunteers" marking its exciting 10th Anniversary celebration on January 28.

New Westminster has one of the highest numbers of charitable organizations per capita in B.C.  Community Volunteer Connections proudly showcases this incredible network by organizing this Festival each year.  The celebration is clearly to highlight the spirit of volunteerism and helps new volunteers find places to contribute to their community.

Royal City Centre is pleased to expand the popular Pet Photos with Santa Claus program.  Pet Photos have moved to Sundays, and are offered from 12noon to 4pm. There are four Sundays before Santa heads off to the North Pole, they are:

The "Musical Acts of Kindness" is a small band made up of students from New Westminster Secondary School.  This wonderful ensemble performs especially to raise money for the Elizabeth Gurney House, a single mother homeless shelter in New Westminster.  Mark your calendar and plan on shopping at Royal City Centre on Thursday afternoon, December 22.  Your donation will be gratefully accepted by these talented young musicians.

TOY DONATIONS ARE WELCOME.  The Gift Wrap Centre operated by the 1st New Westminster Rangers (Girl Guides) will be cheerfully accepting donations of new or gently used toys for children of all ages.

Look for the Family Place Toy Donation Box at the Gift Wrap Centre at Royal City Centre near Shoppers Drug Mart.  The service begins on Saturday December 10th.  The Toy Box is available every day.

Please help us help less fortunate kids and their families this Christmas.  Buy an extra toy for a little girl or boy and drop it, unwrapped, in the Toy Donation Box at Royal City Centre.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

For the second year, Royal City Centre is pleased to support the Girl Guides 1st New Westminster Rangers by providing all the festive wrap, ribbons and bows at the Gift Wrap Centre in December.  100% of proceeds from gift wrapping donations by you this Christmas season will support their plans and programs in 2012.  The 1st Rangers' enthusiasm is a JOY and their wrapping skills are finely tuned.  And, the Gift Wrap Centre will also host a TOY DROP for families in need in New Westminster.

The Gift Wrap Centre is operating in December the following days and times:

Saturdays & Sundays, Dec. 10 & 11 and 12 & 13,  12noon to 5pm

Monday to Friday, Dec. 19 through 23,  12pm to 8pm

Saturday, Christmas Eve, December 24,  10am to 5pm
